Our Family
Sara Schlosser
Sara is the founder of our farm and knowledgable grower behind our beautiful produce. Born in New Jersey, she has been part of the Stowe community since 1980 when she attended the Stowe School. This unique high school offered an outward bound experience to students and focused on sustainable living and agriculture. She graduated from Antioch College in Ohio in the mid 1980’s with a degree in Sustainable Agriculture & the Arts. She has lived and farmed in many different growing climates, from Jamaica to Northern California, and is extremely passionate about growing food.
Since meeting Bob and founding the farm, Sara has spent over 25 years growing commercially for the Stowe Farmer’s Market. Sandiwood has also supplied prominent restaurants and chefs with wholesale produce from the very beginning.
In the off season, Sara loves playing hockey and spending time with her two grandsons. She is also a commercial seed sales rep for High Mowing Organic Seeds and loves sharing her knowledge of organic varieties with growers around the country.
Bob Schlosser
Bob is the co-founder, master carpenter, and sugarmaker of our farm. He has built everything you see here: our barns, greenhouses, and our home for the last 30 years. After purchasing the property as an empty hay field, he turned the property into a beautiful oasis and is very knowledgable about the surrounding Wolcott area.
Born and raised in Lavallette, New Jersey, Bob moved up north after visiting for years as a teenager. He fell in love with the area and has seamlessly adapted to the Vermont way of life.
Sandi Schlosser – Jarumczuk
Sandi was born in 1989 and raised on the farm as Bob finished building the house on our 80 acre property. She grew up around organic vegetables and seasonal produce, and became interested in cooking at a very early age.
Sandi graduated from the New England Culinary Institute (NECI) in Montpelier and is an extremely talented and creative chef. Her commitment to locally sourced food makes her meals so special, and her gourmet 5-course dinners at our farm to fork events always knock guests off their feet.
Sandi is a private chef and caterer and lives in Stowe, VT with her husband and two young sons. Her catering business, Vermont Harvest Catering, is our preferred vendor for on-site food, and her mobile food truck can also be found at the Ryder Brook Golf Course in Morrisville, VT.
Kyle Schlosser
Kyle was born on the property in 1992 in our upstairs bathroom. He is the second generation of our farm and a proud, born & raised Vermonter. Kyle graduated from the University of Vermont in 2015 with a degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism from the renowned Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources. He keeps our grounds looking immaculate and is responsible for maintenance around the farm.
Cal Spinelli
Cal is Kyle’s long time partner and graduate from University of Vermont. She lives on the farm and assists with marketing and social media. A professional photographer and marketing guru, Cal can always be found behind the camera snapping shots of our farming in action. She is also an avid animal lover and horseback rider. After guiding trail rides for a few summers in Lake Tahoe, California, she is excited to bring horses and trail rides to our farm as part of our farm stay activities & excursions.
